Aaaaah...the Sunday afternoon nap. There are a few things in this life that I truly cherish. My faith, my family, my friends, my country...and my nap on the Sabbath. Sunday is special--it's different. We don't shop, or go out to eat, or recreate. We do attend church, study the gospel, listen to uplifting music, spend time with our families, and rest our minds and bodies for the week ahead. What a blessing to put aside the cares of the world for a day. Whatever laundry wasn't washed Saturday can wait until Monday. The errands and chores we didn't accomplish can be finished later. We give ourselves permission to just be. I love to lie in bed with the curtains drawn, the television off, and the children quietly occupied elsewhere. I let my mind lazily roam over my many blessings and my heart fills with gratitude and thanksgiving. As I drift off to sleep, I am truly appreciative of this time of restoration. Thank heavens for the Sunday afternoon nap.
Absolutely love the Sunday afternoon nap! Agree with ya there 100%! Nothing like leaving church, eating lunch, and crashing in the bed with the shades down and covers up. Ok, now I want to go crawl in the bed, lol
